Your Guide: Preparing for X-Ray

This is a guide for all patients who may be having x-rays performed in our facility. If you follow these few simple rules of X-Ray the exam will go quickly and the images obtained will be a better quality for the doctor to read. As always we are committed to patient care. SPINE

C-Spine ( Cervical )
Patient must remove all jewelry from head and neck.  This includes ears.  Anything other than t-shirt must be removed.  Any metal must be removed from shoulder area and above.
T-Spine ( Thoracic )
Patient must remove all jewelry from the neck.  All female patients must remove bra.  Button shirts must be removed.
L-Spine ( Lumbar )
All patients must be changed into shorts or gown.  All patients must remove jewelry from neck.  All female patients must remove bra.  All buttons must be removed.
All metal should be removed from the area of interest. We can assist any patient with changing into a gown or shorts (provided) if needed.

 Rebecca is a registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and is also a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologist (ASRT). She has been an x-ray tech since 2001. Before joining our team Rebecca worked at one of the largest orthopedic clinics in the state of Illinois.
